1934 IMPROVED Corona Four **Personal Collection** NEW PLATEN
Elite Typeface (12 cpi)
Black Gloss
The Corona Four…
I’m not going to sugarcoat it, the original Corona 4 banks are mostly overrated in my opinion(and many other Typewriter mechanics). They can be fussy, and often have been used so hard they just struggle to produce.
At a certain point, Corona realized this and redesigned the Corona 4 and released it as the “Improved Corona 4”.
The mechanics are largely similar but as the name suggests, IMPROVED. I’ve found this machine to be a fun, reliable, and snappy upgrade to the originals, and planned on keeping it as a result.
But… I can’t keep them all, and decided to list it for the right person to enjoy.
Snappy, light, and deliberate feeling keystrokes, gorgeous gloss black paint, the solitary gold Corona decal, and distinctive, flat surfaces make this machine an absolute UNIT. Cosmetically, it's a ridiculously handsome machine. Paint is in very good condition, very few signs of use. A handsome, quick little machine- light key-feel, decisive strikes, and overall just a joy to use!
The hard case is functional, well worn, but still does a fine job of protecting this old gem.
This is NOT an "as-is" typewriter.
It has been lovingly cleaned, oiled, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it. It has a new platen, rejuvenated feed rollers, and surprisingly good original feet.
It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;
YOUR CHOICE of a brand spankin' new solid black, or bichrome (red/black) ribbon available in cotton or nylon on vintage Smith Corona specific metal spools(installed), a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter, hard case, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on the path to analog independence and distraction free writing!
Has been disassembled, cleaned, oiled lightly in the spots that are supposed to be, and serviced by someone that LOVES typewriters.
FREE SHIPPING in the continental US!
