Olympia Pica Typeface (10 CPI)

The Olympia SM series are arguably some of the finest portable Typewriters ever produced. After a few sentences typed on one, you’ll understand why!

The SM1 became the template for Olympias future in the portable Typewriter world. Improvements were made as the years progressed, but the base design remained largely the same.

This striking black beauty has been stripped, cleaned, adjusted, and it has new frame bushings, rejuvenated feed rollers and platen.

I’ve only had one other SM1, they’re fairly rare in the states as Olympia wasn’t the household brand it is now. This is a very fine example, and was well taken care of by its original owner. The classic pica typeface is a nice addition to this beautiful Typewriter, easy to read and professional at 10 characters per inch.

It sadly didn’t come with a case, but these machines are very well suited for a dedicated writing space and given the rarity, I wouldn’t recommend this as a travel machine.

If you’re looking for a beautiful example of German engineering, you cannot go wrong with an Olympia SM.

This is NOT an "as-is" typewriter. It has been lovingly cleaned, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it.

It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;

YOUR CHOICE of;

A BRAND NEW solid black or red/black bicolor ribbon available in cotton or nylon mounted on vintage metal spools, a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on your path to analog independence and distraction-free writing!

Shipped with FREE UPS ground shipping, and packed like a Fabergé egg to ensure it reaches you in the shape it left in.
