1926 Underwood Portable 3-Bank ✨IMMACULATE✨
Pica - 10cpi
A STUNNING example of Underwood’s answer to the more popular Corona Folding 3 Bank. It is by FAR the nicest example of one of these I have come across. The paint and decals are immaculate, a beautiful little machine that’s small footprint make it a perfect companion for on the go & travel typing.
It has 3 banks of glass topped, steel bezeled keys which are all in a nice condition. Each type bar has three letters, numbers or figures, so the 3 banks of keys cover all the normal keyboard requirements, but features 2 separate shift positions for capitals and symbols. Takes a little getting used to, but an extremely gratifying little Typewriter!
It has new rubber case feet for the bottom plate of the case of which it is attached by the way of two long screws under the keyboard. The case lid fits over the bottom plate, and has a remade handle of leather as the original wasn’t salvageable. (The machine can be removed from the bottom plate, but works well while attached.)
It has a neat UK keyboard with the pound sign instead of the dollar, which a first for me to see on one of these little dudes.
It’s rare to find one of these in this condition, it’s a beautiful machine with many more stories to tell.
It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;
YOUR CHOICE of an all-black, or black and red ribbon on vintage metal spools(installed), a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter & its handsome hard case, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on your path to analog independence and distraction-free writing!
FREE shipping in the continental US, quotes available for international clients upon request.
