Elite Typeface (12 cpi)
Considered by many to be the pinnacle of SCM portables, the 5 series is a snappy, handsome machine that much beloved by writers. Mechanically, it types like very well- Smooth, snappy, and satisfying.
The Silent Super was the culmination of all of the 4 and 5 series Smith Corona portables. It is very similar to the Silent model, but adds tabulation set/clear to the keyboard versus the manual stops on the Silent.
Cosmetically, it's beautiful! The Coral Pink paint is in good condition- some signs of use and bit of fading on the left side(which is pretty common on these), but overall very striking. The elite typeface produces a very nice imprint, and at 12 characters per inch, you can fit more on the page.
The case is in fine condition as well, and one of the Smith Corona “Holiday” cases with a typewriter locking frame that can be removed to utilize the case to go “on holiday”.
Smith Corona Typewriters were(and are) a fine example of American design and quality. A true writers machine, and the rare pink paint is hugely sought after.
A very cool typewriter that’s a joy to look at, and even more so to use!

Has been disassembled, cleaned, oiled lightly in the spots that are supposed to be, and serviced by someone that LOVES typewriters.
