1961 Remington Travel-Riter
Pica - 10cpi
Wonderful little almost ultraportable made by Remington in Holland at the same factory that later produced the excellent Mark ll. This particular machine is the first of the 60’s era Travel-Riters I’d acquired, and came from a little Typewriter shop in Georgia that sat padlocked since 1998 when its owner shut down the business.
It’s a wonderful little machine, has a very similar design and feel as the Torpedo 20, which might actually be the base design of the machine as it was made in the same factory in Holland that produced the Mark ll (Torpedo 18s rebranded by Remington).
It has a snappy, quick feel, and is very no nonsense. There’s no tabulator, no touch control, and no color selector switch. This machine is made to get words on paper, and to be pleasant when doing so.
The machine itself is in good shape, some signs of age here and there, but nothing that detracts from the futuristic aesthetic of such a neat little Typewriter. :)
The case is in good condition as well, and works very well for protecting and transporting this lovely little machine
This is NOT an "as-is" typewriter.
It has been lovingly cleaned, oiled, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it.
It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;
A brand spankin' new solid black or bichrome red/black ribbon on vintage Remington metal rings(installed), a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter, it's case, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on the path to analog independence and distraction free writing!
FREE shipping in the continental US, estimates available for international buyers upon request.
