1962 Olympia SM7 🩷CORAL PINK 🩷 *New Platen + Special Typeface*
Personal Collection
Olympia Congress Pica Typeface (10 cpi)
It’s no secret that Olympia’s are my favorite brand… There are specific Typewriters I like more, but Olympia is MY BRAND.
The reason for this is the amount of thought that went into the creation of these amazing machines is mind-boggling. German precision, consistency, and a stunningly handsome, classic design that holds up well even now. The SM series is arguably one of the best ever made, and while sometimes overlooked, the SM7 has become one of my favorites to write on.
This beautiful pink and gray Olympia has been a part of my personal collection for about 4 years, and reigned as one of my favorites for correspondence as I loved the feel AND the typeface- Congress is the bold version of pica, and I personally adore it.
But times dictate necessity, and it’s become essential to let some of my more prized machines go to new homes.
As with all my machines, it’s been stripped, cleaned, adjusted, and tested thoroughly to ensure it’ll hang with anything you throw at it. It is a excellent typing machine, the standard pica typeface is professional, crisp, and makes a great imprint on the page. The action is quick, snappy, and tight, and the carriage shift has been adjusted to be light as a feather. The paint is in great shape, very little signs of age on this beautiful machine. Has a brand new platen recovered by the fine folks at J.J. Short & Associates, so it types as it was intended to in 1962!
Case is in great shape as well, latches are tight, and it does a great job of protecting the typewriter.
This is NOT an "as-is" typewriter. It has been lovingly cleaned, oiled, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it.
It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;
Your choice of ribbon on vintage metal spools(installed), a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter, its handsome hard case, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on your path to analog independence and distraction-free writing!
Shipping is free in the continental US, and estimates can be had for global buyers. I genuinely LOVE Typewriters, and pack them very well.
