1960 Olympia SM4 (Clary Sage) *CURSIVE*

$799.99

Olympia Script No. 75 Typeface (11 CPI)

.

It’s CURSIVE!

It blew my mind when I discovered that Typewriters had different fonts, it REALLY blew my mind to discover they had cursive! Script No. 75 is the more whimsical of the two that Olympia offered, loopy and beautiful, with some of the caps swinging down under the line. It’s my favorite of cursive scripts, fancy, but still relatively easy to read.

The SM3 became the template for Olympias future in the portable Typewriter world. Improvements were made as the years progressed, but the base design remained largely the same. The SM4 is the updated model in the SM line that included TAB set/clear buttons on the keyboard for faster use, but is otherwise virtually identical to the SM3.

This green beauty has been stripped, cleaned, adjusted, It has new frame bushings, rejuvenated feed rollers, and is a wonderful example of Olympias fine precision and spectacular craftsmanship. It is a very nice typing machine, the standard pica typeface(font) is crisp and professional, the action quick and tight, and the carriage shift has been adjusted to be light as a feather. The understated clary sage green paint is in wonderful shape, and accented perfectly by the deep green keys and platen knobs. The distinct silver “panzer” case isn’t in as good of shape as as the machine, but latches as it should, and makes a handsome companion to the machine.

If you’re looking for a beautiful example of German engineering WITH a beautiful, cursive script, this IS the one for you!

It is a monochrome machine, meaning it only uses a single color ribbon due to the cursive coming down past the lines for certain letters.

This is NOT an "as-is" typewriter. It has been lovingly cleaned, serviced, and thoroughly tested to ensure it'll hang with whatever you decide to write with it. The frame bushings have been replaced, feed rollers rejuvenated, and all the pivot points cleaned and oiled.

It comes with everything you see in the pictures and more;

YOUR CHOICE of;

A BRAND NEW solid black ribbon available in cotton or nylon mounted on vintage metal spools, a reprinted original owners manual, the typewriter, its handsome hammered silver hard case, an OFFICIAL Nashville Typewriter sticker and hand-typed note from me, the typeface text sample, and even a few sheets of paper to get you started on your path to analog independence and distraction-free writing!

Shipped with FREE UPS ground shipping, and packed like a Fabergé egg to ensure it reaches you in the shape it left in.

It’s no secret that Olympia’s are my favorite brand…

There are specific Typewriters I like more, but Olympia is MY BRAND.

The reason for this is the amount of thought that went into the creation of these amazing machines is mind-boggling. German precision, consistency, and a stunningly handsome, classic design that holds up well even now. The SM series is arguably one of the best ever made, and this one is no different.

The action is like most SM’s, quick, snappy, and consistent, and the Olympia pica typeface(font) is both classy, professional, and easy on the eyes at characters per inch.

The case is in good condition, latches still work well, and the hammered silver paint is in nice shape.

The paint is in great shape, as is the case. Very well taken care of by it’s original owner!
